GoSwap.org Posting, Features, and Limits

Features

  • All ads are FREE, but require a description and at least one image.
  • Your ads will be posted for ONE YEAR and can be renewed after that
  • There is no limit on the number of ads a user can post
  • Each ad can have up to 8 images (up to 1 MB each in size) plus up to 3 virtual tours (Vtours)
  • Vtours require you to have your images in a panoramic view, which is a wide view setting in your camera. Alternatively, you can stitch several pictures together using widely available photo editing programs and then import them into the Vtours section of your listing. 
  • You can also feature your property for a nominal fee of $50, just contact us with your listing ID. Keep in mind that all your regular listings are FREE.

 

Posting

Your GoSwap.org ads have to be barter related and for items of at least $1,000 in value. 

Posting ads is a three step procedure:

  • Register for an account
  • Login and post a listing
  • Click on "edit listing" in USER MENU to upload photos and Vtours.

Once your listing is posted, an email link "Contact Owner" will appear at the bottom. We will use the email address you provided during the account registration.

 

Inserting Contact Phone and Updating Profile

Update your profile page by inserting your home phone and/or mobile phone and they will be automatically inserted in all your listings
  • Login to your account
  • Click POST / UPDATE ADS
  • Click EDIT MY PROFILE

Removing Ads

 Users can remove ads at any time:

  • Login to your account
  • Click POST / UPDATE ADS
  • Click EDIT MY LISTINGS
  • Choose your listing to remove or modify and click MODIFY LISTING or DELETE (note, deleting will permanently remove all information for that listing from the database)
  • In the "Active" field choose "no" to deactivate the listing. You can always reactivate the listing later.

Illegal Goods and Services

Posting any illegal goods and services is prohibited. This includes any sexually explicit materials. Violators' listings and accounts will be deleted and reported to the authorities. We do track IPs.

1. Tips for creating powerful listings:

Following these simple steps will cost nothing and greatly improve your listing search ranking and will ultimately produce more swap proposals.

1. Use descriptive listing title

Title is what most visitors see when browsing ads. Listing title is also what search engine uses to rank your listing. We have some listings titled "House" or even "Mr" and poster did not even include a picture. What are the chances someone is going to click on this listing? Slim.

2. Pictures are a must

Pictures attract and inspire viewers and up to 15 pics included FREE even with the free listing. Yet many posters neglect to include even one property image.

3. Details, details, details

Describe your property and what you are looking to swap it for. The logic is simple if you did not include a good description, many potential buyers will skip your listing. Lengthy property description also helps your listing to appear higher in the search results and search engines. Be as specific as you can and use keywords that specify your neighborhood, local attractions, etc.
