I'm responding to your inquiry about my house. I have the house listed with 2 acres for $799,000. which is exactly what it would cost to build it today.
You could verify that with www.blueridgetimberframe.com if you would like to. They estimate a turnkey custom house at $225. per sq.ft.
I have the other 8 acres listed for $400,000. which is what the 5 acres next door to me sold for two months ago. ($50,000) per acre.

A thought provoking proposal.
Take a look at our Red Lodge Montana property with a real log home on 5.8 acres, 30x50 barn, shop, garage with a wonderful guest apartment above.  It has a separate entrance and can be rented out any time of the year. The barn, the ranch house or even the property itself can be rented to vacationers. The property is located 4 miles from the town of Red Lodge on paved roads and midway between Billings International Airport, and Yellowstone Park (65 miles either way). Red Lodge has a small municipal airport also. Have lived there almost two decades and the property is free and clear.   This property has one of the prettiest mountain views around Beartooth mountain range--and no one can ever build in front of your view. You can watch the skiers on Red Lodge Mountain from everywhere on the property. It has fabulous curb appeal from every direction and will appreciate in price from now (even in this market) on into the future. Taxes are 2910 per year and the association fee is 360 per year which pays for snow removal on your property, roads etc.
