We are open to all offers in places with climate of little snow. Prefer green and shady. In-town living in a moderately sized town or larger. Would love to move to Texas. Our house was recently appraised for 335,000, but are willing to straight trade for a house valued at 300,000. We are willing to upsize to about 350,000 value. We are willing to downsize, if you can upsize.

We have traded this property and are all interested in helping others understand and feel confident in the trade process.
I had contacted Amy last year when I saw their listing on Goswap. We emailed then talked by phone about a possible trade.
After a couple weeks they decided to try to sell rather than trade, so we stopped communicating.
About 6 months passed, then I noticed their house was still listed on Goswap, so I wrote them again.
They'd still liked our house in Florida. The more we talked, it turned out we had things, helping us feel more confident about trading and trusting one another.
Tim and I traveled to NM to see their house in June, then a week later Amy came to Florida to see ours. We really liked one anothers' houses.
We started to work things out... figuring out how to download a free basic realtor's offer to purchase contract,
then helped one another filling it out, sharing ideas about inspections, surveys, bank loans, deadlines etc...
We made sure it clear as possible, fair, and safe for one another. "Apples for apples".
By the time we were done we decided hiring an attorney was no longer necessary.
Once we signed our offer to purchase contracts, it started the adventures of getting new mortgage bank loans and finding the right title company.
After we applied for our loans, we had bank appraisals and surveys.
Tim and I learned about the necessity and advantages of using a small local bank instead of the big bank we used in the past.
They had to navigate thru the frustrating Florida insurance world and we had to learn about the different NM country lifestyle and adobe houses.
Our closings were simultaneous in two different states. Using a major closing company whom had worked with house swaps before and offices in both states was very helpful. We were in Orlando and they were in Santa Fe, NM.
The closing worked out perfectly plus we were able to save alot of money by doing it ourselves in trading.
After closing we all packed and drove our Penske moving trucks, west and east the 2000 miles.
We still email almost every day. helping one another with sharing information and suggestions on just about everything.
Its been a great adventure and we love our new homes and lifestyles.
