Will swap for:

small house or cottage or apartment or condo, with a lovely view, ideally walking or bicycling distance to coffee houses, library, natural food stores and such.

Located in: Washington > Seattle, WA OR Olympia WA OR Port Townsend OR San Juan Islands

Full Description:
Sweet! our 900 square foot converted barn with vaulted ceilings (10-14 feet high) and clerestory windows. Open floor plan. Small but full kitchen and full bath.
Has a loft. Lots of light, many windows, with good solar gain. On a quiet cul-de-sac on several acres.
Comes furnished. Includes a wood-burning stove, in-floor electric heat, off-street parking. I have another house on the property, with long-term tenants and the washer-dryer is located there, and used by everyone.

This is our primary home and we own it. I've lived here for 24 years.
Location is superb: Bayfield is a town of 1,500, 20 miles E of Durango CO (pop. 25,000). We're 45 minutes from 2 different hot springs (one E and one NW); 2 hours from renowned skiing (Wolf Creek to E and Purgatory Resort to NW).
Great cross-country skiing and snow-shoeing too, just 20 minutes drive from us, on a well-made train alongside Vallecito Lake.

Note: Our local library is just 1/4 mile walk and was named The Best Small Town Library in the U.S.
We're at 7,000 feet elevation on a flat plain on the western side of the Rockies.

Weather in Jan/Feb/early March: dry and mostly sunny (320 days of sun each year); but it can also snow a lot and in those months temperatures usually are around 10-15 F at night and 45-60 daytime (It can drop to -10 some nights).
If you love winter and snow and love to ski.

We're open to a trade that's anywhere from 3 weeks to 1.5 months.
We have an indoor-outdoor kitty and would be open to caring for your kitty or if you'd care for ours - or we could bring ours to your place.

We're both writer/artists, and I have a nonprofit. Our house has a crafty look. It's quiet here and beautiful any time of the year. We're located just a few blocks from the 2-lane highway, but don't hear traffic. The cul-de-sac is plowed by the town and the highway is always plowed. You'll have to shovel the area around your car and part of the driveway to the house.

I have had fine experiences house swapping, starting with when I was 16 years old and my mother and father traded our home in suburban New Jersey for a house in England for a month!

I can send you photos but I don't know how to set up a visual virtual tour.
