How to Swap

Swap with confidence in simple steps.

1

Create Your Listing

List any asset valued at $5,000 or more: a house, condo, land, car, RV, boat, aircraft, or an entire business. Add photos, an honest description, and your swap criteria: the asset types, locations, and price range you want in return. Those criteria are what the platform uses to find your matches.

2

Browse & Receive Swap Matches

Search the marketplace yourself, or let GoSwap do the looking. The platform continuously compares your swap criteria against current and newly added listings and surfaces two-way matches, where each side has what the other wants. Keep your criteria up to date so your matches stay relevant.

3

Connect & Negotiate

Send a swap proposal to open a direct conversation with the other owner. Discuss condition, documentation, timing, and any cash needed to balance a difference in value. Uneven values are normal, and most swaps include an adjustment on one side.

4

Agree on the Swap

When both sides are happy, put the deal in writing. GoSwap can prepare a Letter of Intent that captures the assets being exchanged, any balancing payment, and the conditions you agreed on, so nothing is left to memory before you head to closing.

5

Complete the Swap

Close with the professionals appropriate to the assets: a title company or real estate attorney for property, the DMV or a marine title agent for vehicles and boats. Meet securely at a bank or title office, or use an agreed delivery method, to exchange documents and keys.

Good to Know Before You Start

  • New members start with free GoSwap Credits, enough to create a listing and send swap proposals without spending anything.
  • GoSwap never charges a commission. Costs are flat credit amounts, not a percentage of your asset's value.
  • A swap doesn't have to be even. Two assets rarely match in value exactly, so proposals can include cash or financing on one side to close the gap.
  • GoSwap connects you with your swap partner and helps formalize terms. The closing itself is handled by the licensed professionals you choose, just like a conventional sale.
